MTL Holdings Hires Steve Glasenapp as Director of Envelope

MTL Holdings has hired Steve Glasenapp as the new Director of Envelope. In this role, Glasenapp will work across MTL’s family of brands — Metal-Era, Hickman Edge Systems, and Citadel Architectural Products — to provide strategic customers with a complete metal package for their building envelope.

Located throughout the United States, the MTL Strategic Accounts team is comprised of experienced industry experts with backgrounds in construction, commercial roofing, and LEED building principles. The SA team partners with contractors, architects, specifiers and building owners to assist in the development of code-compliant building envelopes that protect the most crucial component, the building’s occupants. With the MTL Strategic Accounts team, customers receive solutions for availability, metal color alignment, and strategic purchasing of components traditionally received from multiple vendors, channels, and sources.

Glasenapp says, “I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the MTL team as the Director of Envelope. A fully tested and engineered system for the exterior metal envelope – from the roof edge to the wall – is not the way the industry traditionally sources the metal package. I’m thrilled to be able to bring a complete solution featuring multiple benefits as a part of an exceptional team and family of brands.”

Glasenapp has over 15 years of experience in sales and sales management in the manufacturing and construction industry, with a focus on high-design functionality and value-added, code-compliant products. Personally, Glasenapp serves on the Board for Kids Building Wisconsin, whose mission is to bring awareness to careers in the construction industry.

MTL Holdings Acquires Citadel Architectural Products

MTL Holdings has expanded its family of brands with the acquisition of Citadel Architectural Products.

Known for its production of high-quality products, customer service, and on-time delivery, Citadel shares MTL’s focus on customer-centric solutions. Citadel, a manufacturer of composite panels and systems for the commercial cladding industry, extends the MTL Holdings portfolio of products for customers who value full envelope solutions

With the acquisition of Citadel, MTL is pleased to announce Josh Jacobi as the Vice President and General Manager of MTL’s Wall Division. Jacobi brings over 30 years of experience in the metal industry, specializing in product enhancement and development to provide solutions for the use of metal in the building envelope.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Citadel and their employees, along with their independent rep organizations, into our family of brands. Their reliable, customer-first approach to specified products and independent rep development strategy fit seamlessly into our existing brands, Metal-Era and Hickman Edge Systems,” says Tony Mallinger, President and CEO of MTL Holdings.

Mallinger continues, “Josh Jacobi brings a wealth of knowledge to the business, and we look forward to his contributions. Under his leadership, we’ll continue our strategy of investing in employees, equipment, and manufacturing process to expand the business. The addition of Citadel and its Indiana-based manufacturing facility allows us to expand MTL’s product offerings to current and new OEM partners, contractor partners, and prototype developers through our multiple channel strategy and Citadel’s ISO 9001 certified manufacturing process.”

Jacobi comments, “We will look to build upon Citadel’s already stellar reputation through expansion of product offerings to the specifier community, coordinating tested and engineered systems to allow for a single source solution at the roof-to-wall transition of the building envelope.”
